  1. This is a much contested claim, but it seems the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris holds the record for the world’s biggest window. The south rose window at the cathedral is massive, measuring in at 12.9 metres in diameter, containing 84 panes of glass. This is said to be the biggest window in the world and you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful window. French media reported also that Notre Dame’s famous and awe-inspiring South Rose window, created in 1260, had survived the huge fire that broke out in the cathedral back in April of 2019. 
  2. The strongest glass in the world is currently being developed after a major breakthrough in 2011 where a glass that’s ‘stronger than steel’ was produced by scientists at the U.S Department of Energy and the California Institute of Technology. This glass is made by combining up to 5 elements including a rare metal called palladium. The other metals within the glass increase the strength, whilst the palladium increases the plasticity of the glass, preventing cracks from spreading, essentially allowing it to bend under stress rather than shatter.
  3. China’s Hengqin Ocean Kingdom doesn’t just house hundreds of wonderful sea creatures, it also holds the record for the largest aquarium window in the world. The acrylic window panel is a whopping 39.6 metres by 8.3 metres. 
  4. It’s not the only record held by the aquarium, it also has the world’s largest aquarium, largest aquarium tank, largest underwater viewing dome and largest acrylic panel.
  5. The longest football punt into a door frame was set by Stacy Driscoll. This record setter punted a football into the door of a building from a distance of 42 feet nine inches away. 
  6. The world record for the longest time a person balanced a door on their chin was made by Keith H. who balanced the door on his chin for 51.53 seconds. 
  7. The Willis Tower is a 110-story, 1,450-foot (442.1 m) skyscraper in Chicago. This building has 16,100 windows. Wooh! 
  8. The White House has  412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 8 staircases, and 3 elevators. Talk about living royally. 
  9. Vinyl siding is the most popular siding in the United States today. 
  10. The largest window out in space is Capula, a dome with a diameter of 2.95 metres and a height of 1.5 metres, offering the astronauts of the ISS an incredible view
