When the need arises to replace your siding, there are many different options for a homeowner to choose from. How do you know which one to pick? Which ones look the best? prise that through the intensity of seasons we experience your siding can take a beating. Steel takes that beating better than any other material on the market, not to mention it is resistant to rot, insects that damage your home, and fires. The recent advancements in the aesthetic departments of steel siding also offer you a ton of attractive and customizable options. If you prioritize durability and low maintenance for your siding, steel may be the way to go.
Vinyl Siding
A bit more affordable than steel, vinyl siding is the perfect choice for homeowners who are looking for more customization at a lower price. Although it is not as durable as lets say steel, it is still a great insulator that keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The options you have are endless, as it comes in numerous different textures, patterns and colors. It is virtually maintenance free because there is no paint, therefore never needs to be repainted!
Fiber Cement Siding
Fiber cement siding is a combination of composite material made of cement reinforced with cellulose fibers. Similar to steel, it is very impact resistant. It can also be pre-stained/pre-painted to give of an appearance of wood, or you can wait until after installation to decide what you want it to look like. If you enjoy wood siding, but don’t want to deal with the hassle that it brings, Fiber Cement is for you.
Wood Siding: If you don’t mind constant repairs, an extremely high cost, yearly (sometimes more) maintenance, insect hazards and rotting, then the appearance alone of wood siding would be worth it for you. By far the most customizable, and simply beautiful type of siding, it is therefore the most expensive and has the most issues. With this particular kind of home product, the homeowner has to determine if the appearance is worth the headache. If you can answer that question with a yes, then wood siding is for you.
James Hardie Siding
James Hardie is simply a brand of Fiber Cement siding that we offer here at Conservation Construction. A bit more affordable, a better warranty, a bit more customization options and overall better performance than typical fiber cement brands make James Hardie one of our best siding options.
