Easy Ways Get Ready For Trick-Or-Treaters

Thanks for joining us for another fun Friday article. We are so happy to have you. Keep reading to learn more about how to prepare your home for trick-or-treaters this coming Halloween. Have a happy Halloween from all of us at Conservation Construction

Stock Your Candy Supply

We’ve all heard of these supply chain shortages so if you want to ensure you have a lot of stock for the upcoming trick or treaters go to the store and stock up now before the big weekend comes! It’s always fun to put the candy in a cauldron or other fun bucket to add ambiance to your home!

Keep Your Light On

Make sure to leave the lights on Halloween Night so trick or treaters know that it’s okay to come to your house. It’s always fun to light the pumpkins this time of year too. You can place them around your front door to make your home a welcome place for all those who ring. Turn on your exterior lights, including any flood lights, to help create a safe path for trick-or-treaters. Check these early so you have time to replace any burned-out bulbs.

Make Sure Your Doorbell Is In Tip Top Shape

Trick or treaters need easy access to your house. You won’t hear them if your doorbell isn’t working. When I was a kid our doorbell was out and we missed a lot of trick or treaters that year. Ring it a few times yourself before Halloween night to ensure that it’s working!

Clear Your Walkways

Clear the walkways. Toys, rakes, errant stones—clear them all out of the way before trick-or-treating starts. This way all the kids will have easy access to your home and know you’re one of the houses in town to visit.

Coral Your Pets

With all the doorbells and visitors, Halloween can be stressful for your animals  – and even a well behaved pet can bite or scratch when they feel anxious. A constantly opening door makes it easy for furry friends to escape, too. A better idea? Keep pets in a secured room or wing of the house.

Inspect Any Candy Your Kids Bring Home

It’s always a good idea to inspect the candy your kids bring home, too. Make sure it’s unopened. Any candy that looks tampered with should be immediately thrown out. Handmade treats may look nice and appealing but are probably not safe to eat.
