Here at Conservation Construction we want to wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Here’s a wonderful cookie recipe that will be sure to make Santa Happy!
Santa’s Favorite Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Festive red and green sprinkles
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon and sprinkle festive red and green sprinkles on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may still look slightly soft, but they will firm up as they cool.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Now your kitchen will be filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked Christmas cookies, perfect for Santa’s visit! Make sure to leave a few out with a glass of milk on Christmas Eve.
