What Are The Most Popular Front Door Colors?

I’m not speaking from personal experience here, but I wish I was. As a resident living in an HOA controlled community I don’t really get a choice what I want my front door color to be. The HOA regulates my front door color for me. But for those of you out there who are wondering what front door color to choose, keep reading to learn more. Maybe you’ll want to choose one of these popular front door colors, and maybe you’ll want to pick something more unique.

Red

Red front doors have been a popular choice for centuries. Back in the day, red doors were used to ward off ghosts and evil spirits. The tradition of bright color doors came during the Victorian era. Irish civilians were ordered to paint their front doors black in honor of Queen Victoria passing. Instead, in an act of rebellion, they paint them bright colors like red. In today’s world.  Regardless of the shade, red is a widely popular front door color that can make an otherwise bland exterior pop. People who choose a red front door can expect to have a bold porch with eye-catching flare.

Blue

Blue doors too are an extremely popular choice. They have a more subtle beauty than the bold red doors. There are all sorts of shades of blue, some people opt for a darker deeper blue, while others may go with a brighter lighter shade. It really depends on the colors of your house and what is the best fit for you.  A blue front door may symbolize prosperity and abundance, and the darker you go the more a blue door can project a sense of tranquility, peace and elegance.

Green

Green is another popular front door color. Often used to represent growth, green is a natural choice to pay homage to nature and the world outside your front door. It is one of the cool tones which have been known to promote feelings of calmness. Greens, blues, browns, and other tones that appear together in nature will also work well on your house. Using natural colors has the added bonus of making your home look like it belongs in the landscape.

Read Wood Look

One of our most popular styles at Conservation Construction is the “Real Wood” look. Old wood doors are outdated and don’t provide the necessary energy efficiency you need. That’s why you can get the look and feel of a traditional wood door but it’s made of fiberglass. This ensures that you get ultimate beauty and protection. Depending on the shade, brown can mean a warm and reliable home. We have two separate doors Signet and Heritage that both resemble real wood, but can reduce your energy costs and protect your home better.
